Elring expands product portfolio by adding two high-performance adhesives

Dettingen/Erms (Germany), February 28, 2025 +++ The Aftermarket business unit is to extend its chemical product portfolio by including new two-component adhesives used for fast and professional repairs to engines, metal components, and bodywork.

Acknowledged for providing strong bonds, the new LiqRep products have been specially developed for the repair and adhesive

bonding of metal and plastic parts.

 

LiqRep Plastic is a fast-curing two-component polyurethane adhesive suitable in particular for the structural and cosmetic repair of plastics in the automotive and transportation industries. The adhesive can also be used for bonding, patching or filling holes, cracks and joints in plastic parts, rubber/elastomers, wood, stone, glass, and certain metals. Among its key features are fast curing, high strength, and resistance to various chemicals and environmental influences. 

LiqRep Metal is a two-component epoxy resin-based adhesive that stands out for its excellent adhesion to metals such as iron, steel, cast iron, and aluminum but also to ceramics, concrete, wood, and many types of plastic. It is perfect for patching, filling, and bonding cracks and holes, including those that have been incorrectly drilled. The impact-resistant bonds of both adhesives are resistant to UV, weathering, and ageing as well as to water, salt water, coolant, oil, and many chemicals. 

Alongside the two new adhesives, mixing tubes and dispensing guns will also be available in future. LiqRep Mixing Tubes are designed to ensure a perfect mixing ratio of the two adhesive components. The LiqRep Dispensing Gun is designed for easy handling and precise dispensing. 

Asked to comment, Georges Mourad, Head of the Aftermarket business unit, said, “Elring's new LiqRep products offer solutions for repair technology tailored to the needs of automotive workshops. Not only do they enable fast and reliable repairs, but they also contribute to efficiency in the busy workshop routine by reducing the time and materials required." 

The new adhesives are to be launched on March 1, 2025, and will initially be available in 26 European countries, particularly in Central, Western, and Southern Europe. Elring will also be offering a convenient LiqRep Repair Kit for some countries, containing all the essential products for professional repairs
